Mel and Sue

Welcome

This unofficial site is dedicated to Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, known collectively as comedy duo Mel and Sue. If you were looking for the official Mel and Sue website then you need to be here.

This site is still in the early stages of its development so, at the moment, the content is rather limited. You will find, for example, that not all of the thumbnails on this site have links to larger images. However, over the next few months I hope to add many new sections and also develop existing ones. If you have any comments on the site, perhaps there is something that you'd like to see added or maybe contribute a review or article, then please email me.

Mel and Sue are probably best known for presenting Light/Late Lunch for Channel 4 Television between 1997 and 1999, but they have been performing together since 1993 when they made their debut as a comedy duo at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Always at their best before a live audience, they made four more appearances at the Festival prior to their sell out national tour in 1999, entitled Back to our Roots. Following a break from touring, they made their West End debut in 2002 with their new show, A Night with Mel and Sue, which was also a sell out at the Fringe Festival in August 2003.

Mel and SueIf you weren't lucky enough to see Mel and Sue in A Night with..., I have included a couple of reviews and a few photographs, which I will add to at a later date. A couple of the images have links to wave files, which feature a few bars of Mel and Sue singing.

In February 2005,they performed together at the Leicester Comedy Festival but since then they have been working on solo projects. Mel appeared in Ben Elton's new sitcom Blessed, alongside Ardal O'Hanlon, and co-hosted Richard Hammond's 5 O'Clock Show, on ITV1 at the beginning of 2006. Having made her stand-up debut at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival, Sue premiered her new show, The Disappointing Second Show at last years festival.Sue Perkins - The Disappointing Second Show

Recent television appearances by the duo include Schools Out, The Best of the Worst, CountdownComic Relief Does Fame Academy, Jim'll Fix it Strikes Again and Holby City (Mel), Sitcom Showdown, Never Mind the Full Stops , Celebrity MasterChef , Newsnight Review, Have I Got News for You, Showbiz Poker, Edwardian Supersize Me, News Knight and Countryfile Summer Diaries (Sue).

Mel co-hosted Eurobeat - Almost Eurovision at this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She will also be appearing in pantomime at the Barbican. She will be playing Fairy Liquid in a production of Jack and the Beanstalk. Further details are available here.
